Don Challberg brings to B&B a tremendous amount of experience to our representative portfolio. In addition to his four years with B&B, Don has been an instrumental key contact for commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs for NIPSCO, the major electric and gas utility provider in Northern Indiana. He has developed relationships across industries concerning energy efficiency from both the utility, end-use customer and contractor base.

Decades of experience in the construction and project management arena, as a hands on “in the field” kind of guy, Don transitioned into the design and sales portion of the industry. Design and sales had a particular appeal. The progression to tap his wide knowledge base with experience along with amicable personality across a variety of trades was apparent. A consultative, no nonsense approach to his style developed. His clients appreciate what that kind of commitment brings, trust and good management decisions.

Don and his wife Katherine make their home in Lowell, Indiana. They have two grown children. Currently, they are re-establishing a natural wetlands area in north Newton County, of approximately 220 acres of which they own and manage along the Kankakee River. He has chronicled their success and failures on a blog site.

Don is also active in organizations pertaining to energy efficiency. He is a current board member of the Northern Indiana Chapter of ASHRAE and Indiana Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers. He has also been an active speaker before several trade organizations on the topic of utility energy efficiency programs.
